About Us

Well hello! Brooks family here. We're the ones signing all those receipts to say "Thank You!" every time you support us!

My name is Kyle. I somehow got blessed with many tiny humans around me. They are now a chain in the generation lineage passed down from my wonderful mother. Without them, none of this would be possible. I have always had the dream to start a company that will ultimately make a difference in the world, my mother believed I could achieve this dream.

Drago is that company.

Who am I? Since 2001, I have been working in the jewelry industry, slinging diamonds and wedding bands to make a living from a family owned and operated jewelry store in Columbia, MD. My start in design and CAD work began back in 2012 which is still shocking to me as I type this out. My first design of a DRAGO concept was in 2016 when I got married. I desired a wide wedding band that was comfortable, but in rare earth metals. Only I could not source Valyrian Steel quite yet, so I would need to settle with platinum and gold.

The only "comfort fit" ring at the time held heat and moisture, causing irritation. This fun itchy feature is a leading cause of husbands sleeping on the couch for losing their wedding bands. Needless to say my first prototype was horrible, but looks incredible, so I of course still wear it on occasion.

Fast forward to 2020, I have the design perfected with an extremely comfortable, breathable, intelligent design that even allows for fluctuations in finger size. The current design aesthetic is inspired by a dragon's scales, symbolizing strength, wisdom, and the ability to embrace a little bit of chaos.

After a quick discussion with the most wholesome of nurses, I get the brilliant idea to take this breathable design I have been tinkering with for years, and turn it into a silicone wedding band for fitness enthusiasts, frontline workers, or anyone who wants to help us fight the war on cancer. That being said, 20% of the proceeds go directly toward the research and innovation of cancer treatments. Special thank you to UMMC for taking us under your wing to make this dream a reality. Cancer has taken away my mother. Now it’s personal.

Cheers,
Kyle Brooks
